Orbit 2023, The North Orbit 2023 is the proven big-air kite in the North Kiteboarding range. Several pros including Marc Jacobs, Jesse Richman and Nick Jacobsen have shown what this kite has to offer, BIG AIR. What does the North Orbit 2023 have to offer?
Lots of hangtime, boost and stability
The North Orbit has an open profile and therefore a large effective surface, which makes jumping with the kite easy. The sweet spot is easy to find thanks to the light bar pressure. In addition, the North Orbit has a very good upwind performance and is stable in the air, even with gusty and strong winds. Due to the predictable nature of the North Orbit, this kite is also suitable for beginners and intermediate kite surfers.
The shape of the North Orbit has been well thought out, the result is the so-called ‘2-stage arc’. This means that two shapes are combined into one. With the Orbit this can be seen in the difference between the shape of the tip compared to the middle part. This middle part has been given a slight arc so that the kite generates a lot of power. The wingtips are bent straight, resulting in direct and fast steering.
Thin leading edge and 5-strut design
The thin leading edge of the North Orbit ensures less drag, so that the kite is further on the edge of the wind window. This gives the kite a good height and gives a lot of boost and hang time.
The Orbit’s 5-strut design provides stability and a greater wind range.
DuraLite Protection & Profile Transition Panels
An extra panel has been added to connect the leading edge to the canvas. This connection results in less turbulence and more efficient air extraction. You feel this in the air because the kite moves smoothly through the wind window. In addition to this extra panel, padding has also been added in a few places on the leading edge. This ensures that the kite does not lean on its leading edge on the beach, but only on these paddings. The result is less wear and damage to your leading edge.
