Carve 2023, North Carve 2023 The Carve is a powerful, reactive and steerable kite, ideal for carving a wave, tucking into a barrel or encouraging strapless tricks. Designed with a stable design with a lower aspect ratio for quick turns and excellent drift, the carve has an extremely direct feel in both bar pressure and steering initiation. For 2023, north has placed the Carve back in its wave riding category. Refined bridling for a longer, more progressive travel means the kite feels smoother and more responsive across the full depower range. It’s still reactive when you scroll out — right to the end. Improved overall balance also improves drift, so when you’re surfing it will slide down the line, waiting for your bar input. More intuitive control – especially when the kite isn’t visible on a big bottom bend, cut back or in a barrel – means you can focus 100% on the surf. The carve has a slightly smaller diameter of the leading edge and thinned profiles. This gives the kite a smoother power delivery, improves the high-end wind range and helps you sail deeper into the pocket for longer. The kite does not aggressively pull you off the rail and you make softer landings on big jumps. The Carve 2023 will also restart faster in critical situations. We’ve introduced lighter bladders in all sizes and a lighter 2-ply canopy reinforcement. This reduces weight and helps improve turning speed in light winds, while maintaining the surf-proof durability of the Carve. The Carve now flies faster and generates more power and board speed. It shoots into the wind. Experienced riders will benefit from the kite’s impressive power and efficiency, while intermediate riders will find it offers a smoother, more user-friendly ride. Freeride and strapless freestylers will enjoy the improved hangtime and catch for kiteloops and softer landings.
